  • Pringles
    Pringles

Take a look at Miss Pringles, a female, medium sized mix.  We don't have an exact age on her, but we believe she is around four years old.  Pringles is a very sweet, loving girl, but is a bit shy with strangers, it will take a couple of meet and greets for her to feel comfortable.  She does warm up quickly with women and definitely when snacks are involved!  She already knows some commands like 'sit' 'paw' 'down' and jump'!  She is very neat and tidy, and never potties in her kennel.  Don't miss the chance to see this Grande Dame!

  • Morena
    Morena "Polly Pocket"

Polly is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix between about 2-3 years old. She's a little shorty, so the nickname Polly Pocket stuck! It's possible Polly might have had a litter of pups in the past, but now she is spayed and current on vaccinations.

Polly may look tough, but she's a super sweet girl, and just wants all the cuddles and kisses! She wants to be friends with everyone she meets, and her worst habit is jumping up (to give kisses), so she'll need to work on that. For this reason she would only be OK with older children pre-teen and up, so she cannot knock them down. She is a strong girl! We think she's interested in playing with other pups, and with the right introduction and match, should be fine with another dog.

Polly knows the behaviors 'sit' and 'down,' and is very smart, food-motivated, and catches on quickly. She LOVES rolling around in the grass, squeaky toys/tug, and her zoomies are unmatched! Whomever adds this amazing 'pocket' pit to their family is going to be rewarded with the biggest cuddle bug and dog heart you could imagine!

  • Ziba "Baby Mama"
    Ziba "Baby Mama"

WAGS would like to introduce Ziba, also known affectionately as 'Babymama'! Baby is a beautiful, brindle female American Staffordshire Terrier Mix who is about 2.5 years old. She is spayed and current on vaccinations.

Ziba was found abandoned, tied to a bench at a train station. It was pretty evident that she had had a litter of pups recently, hence her name!

Baby is an absolute sweetheart, but she does need extra time to warm up to new people, and is scared of men. When she knows you, she'll roll on her back for belly rubs, and just wants all the love and affection! She loves to have something in her mouth, mostly plastic ball toys, and loves to play tug. Baby also has great zoomies when she's happy! She is not friendly with other dogs.

We think Ziba has had a rough past, and she deserves a real home and some TLC.

  • Rhea
    Rhea

Little Miss, Little Miss, Little Miss Can't Be Wrong!  Please give a warm welcome to Rhea!  She is a staffordshire bull terrier mix, approximately 2 years old.  She has a ton of spunk & energy and will do well with plenty of exercise and a fenced in back yard to play in.  Capturing her while doing zoomies is the best!  She will run circles around you and make funny noises! She's a smart cookie and has already learned some commands like; Sit, Down, and Paw.  She is food motivated, so she should be easy to train.  Unfortunately, we don't think shed do well with other dogs.  Rhea tends to like women more than men, but is slowly warming up to some of the male staff member's.  She will need a slow introduction, but really is just the sweetest!

  • Fidget
    Fidget

Here comes Fidget – our newest W.A.G.S. Dog. She is a Heinz 57 Mix (Husky/Boxer/Bully/Shepherd). To add more mystery into the pot, she has double back dewclaws, which usually indicates Great Pyrenees. Weighing in around 50 lbs, this little gem is a bundle of energy. It would be ideal if you had a big back yard for her to run off that energy. She is very bright and already knows “Sit”, 'Paw', 'Wait', and “Down”.  She is food motivated, which will help with training. Fidget loves all people and has a friendly demeanor and super cute underbite! Come see her today!

  • Mac "Macaroni"
    Mac "Macaroni"

Please welcome Mac -AKA Macaroni- to WAGS! Mac is a Pitbull mix between 1-2 years old. He is neutered and current on vaccinations.

Mac came to us with his sister Cheese after being found abandoned in an apartment complex parking lot. We aren't sure of his past, but we ARE sure that he is a Very Good Boy!

Mac loves everyone, and is just a small potato who wants to be in your lap. What a sweet noodle! Mac already knows 'Sit' and 'Paw,' but will need to work on some other obedience, like walking on a leash. He should be dog-friendly with the right dog.

At only 45lbs, Mac is a small pittie, so he will fit right into your life! call Wheeling Animal Hospital and Pet Resort today to set up a to set up a meet-and-greet!

  • Augie
    Augie

Say 'hello' again to Augie! Augie is a male American Bully mix who is about 1 year old. He is neutered and current on vaccinations.

Augie had a bad encounter with another dog while on leash, so he will need an owner who is confident they can reinforce good behaviors in proximity to other dogs.  We don't believe he is truly dog-aggressive, as he shows no reactivity in the kennel; but, many dogs can be selective, and on-leash meetings with unfamiliar dogs are often fraught.

Augie was found locally, running loose with no tags or microchip. He is a young pup full of energy! Augie is friendly, and already knows 'Sit' and 'Paw'. He's very bright and willing to work for treats, so he will be very trainable.

This velvet hippo's favorite thing in the world right now is a tennis ball! He loves to fetch and is learning 'Drop'. Like most bully breeds, he loves attention and belly rubs, and once his energy needs are met, we think he'll be a part-time couch potato.

Augie will need to work on not jumping up on people and normal obedience, including walking on a leash. He may be dog-friendly with the right match. This pibble has a lot of personality and love to give! Overall, he's a happy and confident guy!

  • Ginger
    Ginger

Say hello to WAGS' newest pup, Ginger!! Ginger is a 9 month- 1 year old Australian Cattle Dog mix; her mother was full ACD, and dad is unknown, but we think she could also have Pit and Shepherd. She is spayed and current on vaccinations.

Ginger came to us after her owner passed away, so she's had a bit of a sad start. She is a really good girl though- very loving, HOUSETRAINED, and wants a hug from everyone she meets. She is very much still in the 'puppy phase,' with a lot of energy to burn. She is very playful, and especially enjoys a tennis ball as well as soft toys. She will need an active home with both physical and mental stimulation.

Ginger already knows 'Sit,' 'Paw,' and is working on 'Down.' She is very food-motivated which helps with training.

Ginger seems unsocialized with other dogs, but she is curious, so with the right pairing and a slow introduction, she should be dog-friendly.

Don't miss this absolute lovebug who only wants to sit in your lap- call Wheeling Animal Hospital and Pet Resort at (847) 520-7387 to set up a Meet-and-Greet and get to know her!!

  • Tofu
    Tofu

Look at this man! Look at his slightly cleft lip and oversize noggin! Meet Tofu, our newest gentleman at WAGS! Tofu is a male pocket Pittie who we think is around 8 years old. He is neutered and current on vaccinations.

As you can see, Tofu has probably had a rough go of it. Despite this, he's a really sweet boy! He loves every human, and wants all the booty rubs and cuddles. He's really pleased when you give him a stuffie to play with.

Tofu does not get along with other dogs, but we think he would be fine with children. He's gentle and doesn't jump up much. As an older dog, his energy needs are lower, and he would make a good couch potato companion!

This sweet mini hippo is looking for a much-deserved second chance- could you be the one to give it to him? Call Wheeling Animal Hospital & Pet resort at (847) 520-7387 to set up a Meet-and-Greet!

  • Amber
    Amber

Please welcome Amber to WAGS! Amber or 'Ambi' is a female Domestic Shorthair mix who is about 3.5 years old. She is spayed and current on vaccinations.

Amber is gorgeous! But, like a lot of cats, you have to earn her love. She is picky about which people she chooses to associate with. Ambi loves to nap and to bury her cat treats under her towels. She does not get along with other cats, so will need to be the only cat in the home.

  • Onyx
    Onyx

Please welcome Onyx to WAGS! Onyx is a female Domestic Shorthair mix kitten about 8 months old. She is spayed and current on vaccinations.

Onyx was abandoned in her carrier one night at our doorstep. She is still learning how to cat! She has taken a while to warm up to staff (after all she's been through), but is finally coming out of her shell.

When Onyx is happy, she has the most rumbly motor-boat purr! When she is comfortable, she enjoys being picked up, and loves scritches around the head and neck. She loves treats, and we think that's really the way to her heart! She will even take them from your hand (while many cats won't). Onyx is going to be a great lap cat- one of her favorite things is to crawl in your lap and loaf!

Overall, Onyx just needs stability and routine so she can work on her confidence. We think with the right people, she's going to make an awesome cat!
